The Foundry at dusk — a dark brick cultural building rising into a deep blue sky, warm light held in a carved timber opening

Verrow — Architecture & Design · Toronto

Buildings that
hold the light.

Custom homes and cultural spaces across Ontario,
designed around light, structure, and permanence.

The studio

Verrow is an architecture and design studio that begins every project where the light does. We design custom homes, additions, and cultural spaces across Toronto and Ontario’s lake country — resolving site, structure, and section until the building feels inevitable.

Approach

01

Site & light

Every commission opens with a light study — sun paths traced across the seasons before a wall is drawn. The site sets the geometry; the light sets the section.

02

Structure as form

Long spans, quiet cantilevers, thresholds with no visible means of support. We engineer the structure out of sight so that space — not effort — is what you notice.

03

Detail as design

Junctions, reveals, and shadow gaps are drawn at 1:5 long before tender. The detail is never a finishing decision — it is the design, carried to its smallest scale.

“Verrow’s houses do not photograph light — they detain it.”

Light, held.

A building begins as a
conversation about light.
